serenas-photo-2Serena Tommasino is a Child Protection Specialist at UNICEF India Country Office. She is the lead person for the Violence against Children prevention (VAC) program including Schools Safety and Child Online Safety.

Serena has over ten years of work experience in child protection programs, policy dialogue and management at national and international level. She worked for the ILO Regional Office for South Asia and supported the work of the South Asia Regional Partnership to end Violence against Children (SACG). Prior to this, she worked in East Africa for an Orphans & Vulnerable Children (OVC) project funded by USAID and as Advisor to the European Union Presidency at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. She also worked as a Child Protection Advisor for a United Kingdom government agency responsible for child safeguarding.

She received her Master’s in Sociology from the University of Naples and she completed a Research Fellowship at the University of Toronto.
