Estacio, LeonardoLeonardo R. Estacio Jr is a professor at the Department of Behavioral Sciences at the University of the Philippines Manila, and currently dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He teaches Anthropology, Behavioural Sciences and Health Policy courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, respectively. He completed his PhD in Anthropology at the University of the Philippines Manila and his Master’s in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University, USA. He has been a visiting scientist at the University of Washington and has been a recipient of the US government’s Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. Apart from being awarded as an outstanding teacher by his College, he has also been a recipient of the University of the Philippines Manila Chancellor’s Award for exemplary extension work (public service). His current research interests include studies on drug abuse and behavioural health among young populations, social health insurance benefit packages, community-managed health programmes, delivery of health services to geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, violence against children, children online and the sexual exploitation of children online, among others.
