magdalenas-photoMagdalena Aguilar is the Head of Programme Development at Child Helpline International, which aggregates and analyses the data coming in from child helplines in 139 countries and uses this evidence base to influence policy and work towards improving the conditions for children, both globally and locally. Magdalena is responsible for managing Child Helpline International’s programme department including programme management, oversight and development, as well as the development of thematic expertise on gender mainstreaming, child online protection, and youth participation, amongst others. Understanding the power of joint efforts, Magdalena works closely with key stakeholders to achieve sustainable and holistic results for Child Helpline International and child helplines worldwide.

Magdalena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Philosophy from the American University in Washington DC and a Master’s degree in Human Rights, Development and Social Justice from the Institute of Social Studies (The Hague). Magdalena has extensive experience in the field of human rights and has served widely as a resource person for multilateral agencies, international organisations, civil society and academia.
